Business Printing Presses

Johann Gutenberg created the first printing press around 1439, making Gutenberg the father of business printing. The invention of the printing press changed the world, and it created an entire new type of business, the business printing company.

Today the printing press technology is very different than the first business printing press Gutenberg invented, but the principles are still the same. Today most business printing companies use offset printing rather than a printing press. The offset press allows for much more complex graphics text than the traditional printing press used by early business printers. There are still specialty printers that use ancient printing presses for their business printing, though not very many.
